My 2011 Prius was just diagnosed with a failing cell in the main battery pack and the dealership recommended replacing the whole pack for about $4K (!). The service rep said that was for a refurbed battery pack(!?!). He also said the car didn't qualify for the 8y/100k warranty (10y/1500K in CA). Various online sources have said that any states that adopted California's CARB rules also require the 10y/150K warranty be applied, in which case my car would be covered. I bought the car in WA, which adopted CA rules way back. Anybody been through this drill with Toyota in a state that has adopted CA emissions rules?
