hey guys i found a interesting article online just today and I know this is a Prius forum but look at the facts and compare for yourself to see which vehicle below.

The article writer asked a question and I'm going to quote that and ask it here to see what kind of response I can get from this community.

Question:
If you were searching for a highly efficient five-passenger vehicle with lots of space, would you consider purchasing a Prius v, Jetta TDI wagon, Ford Escape Hybrid, or would you wait for the Ford C-Max hybrid? What else might you put on a shopping list? Tell us in the comments section below.

Toyota’s comfortably sized Prius v wagon finally goes on sale in October but, until the Ford C-Max hybrid arrives in the U.S., with what exactly does the Prius v compete? When considering the 2012 Prius v’s price, interior space, and EPA fuel economy ratings, it’s difficult to find too many real competitors.

With a starting price (including destination) of $27,160, the 2012 Toyota Prius v base model includes a 6.1-inch display screen with a backup camera, driver door Smart Key system, and 60/40 split sliding and reclining rear seats. Go for the Prius v Three and you’ll get a navigation system and Toyota’s new Entune sound system with HD Radio (and iTunes tagging) plus satellite radio. A Prius v Three costs $27,925.

The 2012 Toyota Prius v, which is rated 44/40 mpg city/highway by the EPA, has a minimum of 34.3 cubic feet of space behind the spacious rear seats and 67.3 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. Only a couple vehicles come close to the Prius v’s combination of space, fuel economy, and price.

2012 Ford Escape Hybrid – In front-wheel-drive form, the Ford SUV hybrid starts at $31,395, has 34/31 mpg ratings, and has 30.9/66.4 cubic feet of cargo space with the second row seats up/folded down.

2012 Volkswagen Jetta TDI wagon – With the DSG transmission, the 2012 Jetta diesel wagon is priced at $27,130, just 30 bucks cheaper than the base Prius v. The Jetta has EPA ratings of 29/39 mpg with the DSG and 30/42 mpg with the six-speed manual transmission. There’s 32.8 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats in place and 66.9 cubic feet with the seats folded down.
