My understanding is that once the car is restarted, full smart key function is restored.

Hi everyone....
I have a new 2012 Prius ( model 4). When I was reading the manual regarding the smartkey it stated that if the car is left unattended for 14 days or more, in order to not put a drain on the 12 volt battery, you cannot open the other doors when you approach with the smart key. It states to either try opening the driver's door with the smartkey, or use the manual key.
How would you get the function of of smartkey back?
