I have a 2011 Prius and when I slow down to come to a stop, I get this noise under the hood, closest sound I can think of is beeping. It stops after a very short time, even after I shut down the engine. And I can't open the door and get out to open the hood to listen for it, as it stops before I can check. I stop at a light it will start and stop everytime.

So what the hell is it and is it a warning of bad things to come. I replaced the engine, both 12 volt and hybrid battery, not because of this, but it did it before and continues afterwards so I'm sure it is something with the electrical half of the power system.

Any ideas?

I think your right about the brake booster. The noise happens when raking to a stop. When I step out of the car, my foot comes off the brake, and noise stops. So I pumped the brakes and noise comes and goes with the brake. Now I won't worry about it, but what's with the brake booster?
