Hello,

We are purchasing a PHEV Prime next week. We currently have a 2011 Chevy Volt. Is it possible to charge them with either chargers? Are they interchangeabl? We would like to have a charger at our vacation home and not bring the charger every time we go.

Thank you!

You need to ask this question of BOTH Chevy and Toyota and see if you get the same answer.
But the likely answer is: NO, the charger cables are NOT interchangeable.

I think that it would be a good idea to store the charger cable IN each respective car.....all the time.
That way it would be with you no matter what circumstances might arise.

Thanks for the reply. We currently have chargers for the volt at both residences. And if they’re not interchangeable they we’d most like purchase an additional charger for the Prius. we do plan on keeping the Volt since we really love that car.

You say ”Likely No” what do you base this opinion on?
There is no agreed upon industry standard.
And competitors don't usually cooperate on things like that unless forced to.

You are just wasting your time on here.
Ask the people who KNOW.
The companies who make them.
