My wife and I decided to trade in our Ford Fusion on a 2013 Prius 3 weeks ago. We drove the prius 2,450 miles from Florida to New Jersey last week. We averaged 42.5 MPG at an average speed of 75 MPH on the drive up. I drove home at an average speed of 77 MPH. After we got home I added up all gas used and divided it by the total miles driven and we averaged 44 MPG for the complete trip. When we left for New Jersey we had 528 miles on the car. The ride was nice, we moved along with the big boys and the car handled fine. Now that we are back home the car is getting 55 to 63 MPG around town. I expect I will save an average of $100 a month in gas costs. Very impressive car overall. It's not much smaller than our Fusion in interior space, we're talking an inch here and there, and has plenty of trunk space as well. I got sick and tried of gas prices hitting $4 a gallon, and decided to do something about it.
