We have a 2016 Prius without a spare tire. In the place where our second gen Prius had a lower storage compartment, the fourth gen Prius has a lot of insulation and a small tire inflation kit. It seems like this wastes storage space. Does anyone make a liner that can replace the thick insulation material below the rear storage compartment?

I don't think you want to remove that insulation.
I think it is there for road noise isolation and you wouldn't like the sound with it removed.

Just cut a piece of carpet or similar and put your "stuff" on top of the insulation.
