Hi, new to the site and new to hybrid cars. I bought a 2005 Prius for my son who is getting ready for his college studies. I really don't know anything about these cars but have liked them since they have come out. I usually ride my two wheelers to work if I am not needing to haul anything in my rig so I didn't have the need for a Prius. It is a cool little car and I think that I like it as much as he does. Anyway hoping to learn about them here and contribute if I can. I have done most of my own work on my Savana as well as all of the work on my Kaws but this little guy has me more gun shy than our Murano.

David

Hi David, congrats on the purchase. I also just purchased a 08 prius for my wife. These cars are great and very reliable. From what I read, you can put an easy 300+k miles without a sweat. If the batteries need to be replaced, you can find them at a salvage yard. The gas mileage is great, the steering is crisp and not too spongy. The interior is a bit cheap feeling but again it's not a european sports sedan. :D
