The new Prius Alpha Hybrid is said to have interior parts made from DuPont Sorona EP Polymer and it's suppose to help contribute to Toyota's push to make their vehicles more green. Looking forward to seeing what this material is like at first hand and seeing how different it is.

A website explains the DuPont Sorona EP Polymer to be a... high-performance, renewably sourced thermoplastic resin, contributing to the advanced interior design while also reducing the environmental footprint

I hope this plan won't backfire on Toyota. I'd hate to see them apply this product in their cars only to have it crack, fade, or something enough to put them in the media spotlight once again.

Making the car more expensive with extensively researched parts, to shave off mere pounds.... why not just make the car out of titanium bodies... and more carbon fiber pieces.. makes it much lighter and still adds to the cost.
