It's no surprise California would feel the pinch of limited Prius inventory first, as the state is the largest market for the ultra-efficient hatch. Many dealers have less than a two week supply, while others have zero models in stock. Meanwhile, Toyota restarted the Prius plant late last week in an effort to keep the popular hybrids flowing to the U.S. and around the world. But for the short term, the automaker is running the line at about half its normal pace, and the plant was shut down on Wednesday to gauge parts availability.

Everyone in Cali... relax... your world wont end if you don't have a Prius!

im not surprised at all. california is the biggest market in the us for alternative fuel vehicles. thats were youll find the biggest concentration of prius, leaf, volt, etc... owners. i wouldnt be surprise if they actually run out of prius' because of this panic. hopefully the supply for the rest of north america is somewhat safe.

People have to much worry for anything, this may just be dealers pulling the fear card on people, and rushing sales!

even though the demand is high i cant picture 10 prius' rolling of California lots everyday.. i mean if that were the case cali would have 100000 of them!
