So my mechanic told me my inner tie rods may need to be replaced soon, but they don't sell just the tie rods from Toyota you have to order the whole steering rack at a cost of $2000 Canadian not including labor. Does anyone know if there is a part number for the inner tie rod, or would I be better to go to a salvage yard. I Think paying $2000 plus labor for inner tie rod is crazy..

Replacing them AT ALL might be crazy.

What year is your car ? How many miles ?
Are there any symptoms......like uneven tire wear or shimmy at certain speeds or strange noises when turning ??

I think a second opinion from a different shop is in order.
