Default Scraping Noise ? Cat-Lock

My Prius (2nd Gen) has developed a scraping noise. Initially this was an intermittent noise occurring when I turned the wheel to the left. The noise is now occurring more frequently even when I'm driving in a straight line. I have taken the car to the local Toyota dealership. They took it for a drive and heard the noise. They put the car on the ramp and gave it thorough checking over. They could not identify anything wrong with the car. And were unable to suggest what was causing the noise other than it possibly being caused by the Cat-Lock? Whilst I'm reassured by their comments the noise is getting worse and I'm sure the only solution can't be to just turn the radio up!! Any thoughts..... Cheers

Take it to a different shop.
What is a Cat-lock ??

This is most often caused by brake pads that are worn out.

Pretty incompetent shop that can't locate a reproducible noise.

Thanks Easy Rider for your reply. Sorry for the misspelling. A Catloc is a locking device to prevent the catalytic converter being stolen. Since I reported the problem its got worse. The noise is now pretty much continuous and not just when turning left. I intend taking it back to the dealer to give them one final chance to rectify the problem. Cheers

Although it should have been obvious, I eventually removed all of the wheel well panels. Of course, I had lots of snow and mud with which to contend.
