Intermittent Problem with Brakes
Hi, I bought a used 2007 Prius a few months ago. Mostly it's running great, but there's one thing. This has happened several times since I got it and I believe that it is more likely to happen in cold weather (I'm in Minneapolis, so I mean when its below 10 degrees F)
The order of events is always the same. I turn on the car and the parking brake light is on when the parking break is not deployed. There is no problem driving. Then, after 5-15 minutes, the exclamation mark symbol, ABS, and VSC lights turn on. At this time, there is also a reduction in braking power, it feels like my brakes are running at 70% or so. Usually, the lights turn off and the function is restored after some period of time. I've also noticed that it can be reset often by me slamming on the brakes.
Any idea what is happening? I haven't brought it into a mechanic yet.
