Default Gas tank swap from a Corolla or Camry into a Prius.

Hi everyone! New to the forum. So I’ve been doing a lot of searching on the internet and research about the emissions system on the Prius and besides the bladder in the tank they are the same as the Corolla. Same sensors, charcoal canister and valves. Always thought the bladder in our second gens was a pain. Been doing doing research on a tank swap and the corolla and the Camry seems like the best option. The top of the tanks where they meet the car are very close in shape to the Prius tank.

Went to the junk yard the other day and dropped the tank in a 2007 Prius and a 2005 Camry and 2004 corolla. Corolla tank fits great and the Camry tank will need a little work to fit in there but can be done with a block of wood and a hammer.

Here’s the Camry tank under the Prius. The lip that house around the tank will have to be worked with a hammer to make room for it to fit in place. Needs to go up about another 3 inches and forward an inch. 18.5 gallons will give a 900 mile range.

I hope you enjoy doing stuff like this, because I think it is NOT a good idea.

I would "swap" the entire car out for a newer model that doesn't have the bladder.
Or just live with the quirk if it is otherwise working OK.

After your swap, there could potentially be gas leaks that develop that could be dangerous.

Good luck.
