Default Prius Not Driven Much Hyrbrid Battery ?

Hello All, first post and thanks as this is a great forum!
So I just bought a 2012 Prius with only 50k miles on it. All seems well, but the battery bars will not get past 3. I am assuming it hasn't been driven much lately ( I will check this) and it is showing that the MPG is only 43 mpg on the last trips.

So my question is, do the hybrid batteries come back to life after not driven for awhile or not driven much over the last year or so?

thanks

Actually 43 is good for a "full size" Prius......depending on the driving conditions.

And it is not unusual for the battery "meter" to stay close to the middle of the range, again depending on your driving conditions.
Having the AC on can be a limiting factor in how high it will charge.

Are there any lightly traveled roads in your area with BIG hills ?
If so, go to the top of one, put it in B mode turn A/C off and let the regen braking charge all the way down.

It is 8 years old but in general down time will not have a really bad effect on the HV battery.
The 12 V battery is another story though.
