Default Urgently need roof rack for 2016 Prius Four Touring

Does anyone know of a roof rack that will, for sure, fit the 2016 Prius Four Touring and that is, for sure, actually available?

The roof rack dealer that sold us the Whispbar system for our 2005 Prius assured us they could reinstall it on our new 2016 Prius Four Touring. When we showed up for our appointment, only then did they say that the vendor does not currently offer the necessary feet and roof clips.

The salesman from whom we bought the car told us that sure, they could get us the "Genuine Toyota cross bars" described here on Toyota's website, only to have the parts department say that they do not have a part number for it and can't get it for us.

Make an appointment to talk to the owner of the dealership......WITHOUT your salesman being present, at least at first.

Tell him that you want your money and your old car back if they can't get you a genuine Toyota rack.......like they promised.

Bad advice above. Car makers often are slow to get accessories into distribution. The parts dept. can not order what Toyota hasn't made available. Even when the parts guy has a part number, that does not mean the warehouse has any to ship to him.

Do your own research. Contact other dealership parts departments and ask. Contact the Toyota customer service phone line. Contact Yakima and Thule rack makers. And expect to wait for someone to make crossbars for your excellent low production car. Be so courteous to everyone that they really want to get the first set out to YOU. I used to work with a really lazy guy who produced excellent results---his motto: You get what you inspect, not what you expect.

Mine is: If the salesperson LIED to you to make the sale, that is FRAUD and you should be given the option to unwind the sale.......if you want to.

How exactly is that bad advice ??
