Exclamation how to know it's time to replace battery ?

Hi, i saw on the screen of my Prius 2007 a sign of engine, big triangular (with ! sing in it) and vcs (which later removed)
this is my second time i seeing it, the last time i toke the car to the garage and they told me to replace battery.
the problem is that i saw after it that it's fine and go up to the max (green) and go on driving like that.
how do you know if the battery is dead and is it safe to drive like this for a while or at least till i replace the battery?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum.

There are TWO batteries in your Prius.
The small 12 V one is relatively inexpensive ($200 US) and easy to replace.

The high voltage hybrid one is MUCH more of a problem if it is going bad. $2000 to $3000 for a new replacement.

IF.....the small one is more than 3 years old or it's age is unknown, it would be a good gamble to replace it first.

Was this "garage" a Toyota dealer ??
