Headlight replacement

I replaced the driver side headlight on my 2004 Prius two years ago and was shocked that the cost at the dealer was $500. Now, the passenger side headlight needs replacement. Short of doing the work myself, does anyone know of a way to avoid the high cost? After driving it for more than 125K miles, I still love my Prius but remain very unhappy about the unreasonable cost of headlight replacement.

Since my last post, the right-side headlight that I thought needed replacing now works! For several days it did not work, but now it does work, though it appears somewhat dimmer and a different hue than the driver-side light (which I spent $500 to replace about 18 months ago). Have others had a similar experience?

I got my bulbs from LSALlighting.com in 5k. Works fine and under $50 for both including shipping. Once you remove the bulb it's easier and easier for the next time around. Passenger remove the intake snorkel, and pull away the plastic panel. No need to remove. Driver side use a 10mm to pull away the fuse box for easier access
