Default 2001 Prius battery trouble

I just returned from a week-long trip and while running errands the "Battery" and "Check engine" lights came on, as well as "PS" and I have no idea what it means. Is my battery dead or does it need to be charged? Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

It is possible that your aux. 12 V battery is just going bad; let's hope that's all it is.
Places like Auto Zone will test that battery for you.

You probably need to visit a qualified hybrid shop......like a Toyota dealer.

There isn't much you can do to diagnose the problem yourself.
At the very least, you need a digital multi-meter ($20 or less) and a "code reader" which runs $100 or less.

For most people, it's better to just take it in.

Sometimes a Toyota dealership will charge you a diagnostics fee but will apply it towards a credit if you go with the repair. It might be worth the investment in my opinion.
